3 You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
4 You shall no more be termed Forsaken,
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,
but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,
and your land Married;
for the Lord delights in you,
and your land shall be married.
5 For as a young man marries a young woman,
so shall your sons marry you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so shall your God rejoice over you.
Oh how this blesses my heart! We shall never be overcome once we have received the power of salvation! And God will put our righteousness on display for others to see – to bring glory to his name. YOU are a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD.
You are no longer Forsaken – in Hebrew “Azubah”, fail, leave.
You are no longer Desolate – in Hebrew “Shemamah” devasatation, waste.
Revelation 2:17 says “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.”
You no longer have the same name as before. Though your physical name stays the same, your spiritual name is Redeemed, Saved, Daughter, Child of the King. You are now called My Delight Is In Her – in Hebrew “Hephzibah”, and “Married” – in Hebrew “Beulah”, to master, have dominion over. By the power of Christ’s work on the cross, his love, God’s love and mercy, you have dominion! And that’s not all – He delights in you! He takes joy in you!
Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is in your midst, a might one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Revelation 3:12 “The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.”
You are covered by the name of God, you carry his name. You are covered by the blood of Christ, you carry his name. He loves you, he rejoices over you, even in your moments of failure.
1 John 3:21-23 “Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.”
We have confidence before our great God that we can and will please him – the part we need to get right is believing in Christ, loving God – then out of that love flows everything else. When we are in a right relationship with God, we cannot but help to love others.
God has really been doing a great work in my heart to have more love for others. To see myself as no better than anyone else – even those who are unlovely to us, or hard to love. I want to live like I am loved by the King, and help others to see his love for them is great, unmatchless, unlimited, unconditional.
How are you living like you are loved to others around you? How are you shining the love of God and the salvation of Christ into the lives of others? Are you taking every moment that comes, every opportunity that crosses your path? I know I’m not. But I pray for more opportunities, and I pray for more love that flows out of a love for him who saved me – and they will come.
