Not really. I mean, I’m not BLUE as in I’m down. But I’m blue from head to toe! And this is all about mixing blues! Well, two, or three blues anyway.
I used to stick with brown, black, and red as my main wardrobe colours. Talk about BOOOOOOOOOORING! I was afraid to mix colours together, let alone patterns (which we’ll get to in a later post!) and add accessories. It took my hubby’s unique and REALLY smooth sense of style to help get me out of the box.
First of all, who says you can’t wear 3 different shades of blue? I’ve got blue jeans (my fave LOVED skinny jeans), a bright blue tank top (Motherhood – LOVE the extra long length on their tanks!), and a teal blue t-shirt (courtesy of my mom again – thanks mom!). Hey, whaddya know, it works!
Throw on some fun earrings and ankle boots if you’re going out – or even if you’re not!
So don’t be afraid to mix blues together, just DO try them on in front of a mirror first to make sure they’re YOUR blues and work together.
The second thing I want to talk about quickly is layering up. As a mom of 3 kids, I’m constantly active with them – lifting, bending, chasing, hurrying, jumping (ok, maybe not jumping right now, but you get the idea :D). The great thing about over-the-belly jeans is you don’t have to worry about your belly popping out underneath your shirts, so you’re staying covered up.
If you don’t have over-the-belly jeans, you can get some belly bands (I’ve tried a few different brands, only Ingrid and Isabel hold up over multiple pregnancies – get it? Hold up? *crickets crickets*). And if you really can’t stand the feeling of anything extra on your belly, get some longer tank tops that will give you the coverage you need.
That’s it for today folks!
